SC22/WG20 N979 CLAUI TD (Cultural and Linguistic Adaptability and User Interface Technical Direction) 2002 Coordination Meeting (17 th and 18 th October 2002) Subject: Calling Notice and Draft Agenda. Paris, September 12th, 2002 Dear colleagues and friends, Here is the calling notice for the next annual CLAUI meeting to be held in Sophia-Antipolis, as planned at its last meeting, just before the weekend preceding the 2002 JTC1 Plenary meeting. The proposed agenda follows the following logistics information. It is to be noted that this meeting will discuss in particular the various contributions produced in the last months by SC2/WG2 (request to JTC1 for review of the CLAUI TD role), by SC22/WG20 (discussion on enhanced cooperation on the international sorting standard, mainly), by SC22 Plenary (recommendation on the method of operation of the CLAUI meeting) and by SC35 Plenary (on the need for a more proactive approach in the future work on CLA, a strategic orientation for JTC1). See point 5.1 of the modified standing agenda proposed at the end of this calling notice. As there is ample matter to discussion, it would be most desirable that we come with some common draft positions at the JTC1 Plenary. Please note that the JTC1 Plenary itself will be held at ETSI but that the CLAUI coordination meeting will be held at a nearby Sophia-Antipolis building, at: Centre International de Valbonne (CIV), 190 rue Frédéric Mistral Valbonne Sophia-Antipolis This International educational center is an institute of the French Ministry for National Education (Ministère de l'Éducation nationale) The meeting will start at 9:00 on Thursday, 17 October (from 9:00 to 18:00) and should end at the latest at 16:00 on the next day. The best is to arrive through Nice airport, many companies having direct flights available. If you want to move around or stay longer a car rental is certainly appropriate. Looking forward to meeting you in Sophia, please accept my best regards.
